JSU Awards 724 Degrees at Historic Spring Commencement
Just six weeks after an EF-3 tornado devastated Jacksonville State University and its surrounding community, 724 students were awarded degrees at a special ceremony on Burgess-Snow Field at JSU Stadium on May 4.

Samford University Spring 2018 Dean's List
Samford University releases dean's lists after the close of the fall and spring semesters each academic year. To qualify for the dean's list, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework. Dean's List is the highest academic recognition given by the school at the end of each semester.

UA Announces Inductees Into Phi Beta Kappa
The University of Alabama has inducted a new group of students into its chapter of Phi Beta Kappa. Founded on December 5, 1776, The Phi Beta Kappa Society is the nation's most prestigious academic honor society. It has chapters at 286 colleges and universities in the United States, 50 alumni associations, and more than half a million members worldwide. Noteworthy members include 17 U.S. Presidents, 39 Justices of the Supreme Court of the United States and more than 130 Nobel Laureates. The mission of The Phi Beta Kappa Society is to champion education in the liberal arts and sciences, foster freedom of thought, and recognize academic excellence. UA's chapter was founded in 1851. Students are elected to membership on the basis of outstanding academic achievement in the liberal arts and sciences.

Students in Dr. Lane Boyt-Eckis' ECO 2251 class welcomed Susan Parrish, the TANF Supervisor with Geneva County DHR. Parrish spoke to the students about how economic fluctuations affect the level of cases at DHR; essentially the mental and societal well-being and its connection to economic growth and development.

Students Attend Wiregrass Human Resources Management Association Forum and Vendor Fair
On Nov. 15, 2017, the Sorrell College of Business students at the Dothan Campus had an opportunity to attend the Wiregrass Human Resources Management Association Forum and Vendor Fair. This fair was a one day conference for Human Resource professionals and all supervisors and managers geared to enhance managerial skills. The sessions include topics such as motivation, dealing with difficult employees, training, project management and onboarding.

The University of Alabama recently selected 39 students as Capstone Men and Women. Capstone Men and Women serve as official ambassadors of UA. Troy University announces Chancellor's List for Fall Semester/Term 2
Troy University is pleased to announce students who have been named to the Chancellor's List for the Fall Semester and Term 2 of the 2017/2018 academic year. UA Students Pursue Cooperative Education With Corporations
Close to 300 University of Alabama students are receiving a hands-on educational experience at more than 60 companies and organizations through UA's Cooperative Education Program during summer 2017. In the Cooperative Education Program, students alternate periods of full-time study with periods of full-time employment. This program offers work related to the academic major or career interests of each student. The experience enhances the students' employment prospects after graduation. While in school, students carry regular course schedules. While on co-op, they work with professionals in their fields who supervise their training and work. At work, co-op students earn competitive salaries and may receive benefit packages in addition to valuable on-the-job experience. Students maintain their full-time student status while at work and have priority registration status each semester through graduation.
